When I started this piece, Afghanis were fleeing their war-ravaged country and in finishing it, war has forced Ukrainians to flee their homes. With Prayer, I set out to create a work that stands in resistance to conflict. One important goal for us musicians is to convey a sense that we humans equally belong to a much larger scheme without the need for war. The whole piece can be heard on FROM THE SOUL with the Musica Solis label.
